जंगल की कहानी

एक जंगल था । उसमे बहुत सारे हरे भरे पेड़ थे-कांटे वाले बबूल, लम्बी जटाओं वाला बरगद, लाल-लाल फूलों वाला पलाश, सफेद रुई वाला सेमल, छोटे पीले मीठे फलों वाला खिरनी का पेड़, काले-लाल फालसों से लदा पेड़, आम, जामुन, कटहल और भी न जाने कितने तरह के पेड़ ।

इसी जंगल में एक तरफ था पहाड़ी झरना, जिसमें पहाड़ के ऊपर से आता पानी जब नीचे गिरता तो लगता मानो दूध की धारा गिर रही हो और जब पानी नीचे पत्थरों पर गिरता तो छोटी-छोटी बूंदे हवा में इस तरह छिटकती मानो मोती सारे जगह बिखर रहे हों। सुबह-सुबह जब इन पर सूरज की किरणें पड़ती तो उस जगह इन्द्रधनुष बन जाता – सात रंगों वाला। कल-कल की आवाज से गिरता झरना एक मधुर संगीत पैदा करता। जंगल के सारे जानवर इस झरने से बनी झील का मीठा पानी पीते और खुशी से झूम उठते। हाथी अपनी लम्बी सूंड से पानी का फौव्वारा अपनी पीठ पर डालते, लम्बी गर्दन वाले जिराफ, काली सफेद धारी वाले जेब्रा, काले लाल मुंह व लम्बी पूंछ वाले लंगूर बन्दर, सुनहले हिरन, हुवां-हुवां की आवाज करने वाले सियार, भेड़िया, लोमड़ी, दहाड़ने वाले शेर – सभी इसी झील का पानी पीते । जंगल अपने नियम से चलता यानी शाकाहारी पशु जैसे हिरन, जंगली भैंस, जिराफ, जेब्रा आदि घास-फूस, पत्ते खाते । भालू जैसे जानवर मांस भी खाते और मधुमक्खी के छत्ते तोड़ कर शहद भी; वहीं मांसाहारी पशु जैसे शेर, चीता, भेड़िया, लकडबग्घा छोटे जानवरों का शिकार करते और खाते । इसी जंगल में झील के ठीक किनारे एक बस्ती थी – आदिवासियों की बस्ती । इन्हें आदिवासी इसलिए कहते हैं क्योंकि ऐसा माना जाता है कि ये आदि यानी शुरूआत या पहले से यहाँ रहते हैं । इनके रहने के तरीके, पहनने के वस्त्र, खान-पान, भाषा, संस्कृति सब इनकी पहचान है और हम लोगों के आज के तरह के रहने के तरीकों से भिन्न है लेकिन इसे नीचा किसी भी तरह से नहीं कह सकते क्योंकि हम भी कभी इसी तरह से थे। तो, जंगल की इस आदिवासी बस्ती में लोग अपने रहने और जीने के लिए पूरी तरह से जंगल पर ही निर्भर थे। घर बनाने के लिए पत्थर और लकड़ी, आग जलने के लिए सूखी लकड़ी, खाने के लिए फल-फूल, शिकार के लिए जानवर और पहनने के लिए मरे जानवरों की खाल – सभी कुछ इनको जंगल से ही मिलता था। ये आदिवासी अपनी जिन्दगी हंसी-खुशी से काट रहे थे।

इसी आदिवासी बस्ती में एक छोटा लड़का रहता था-भोलू । नाम तो उसका भोलू था लेकिन वो था बहुत शरारती और तेज दिमाग वाला । अपने दोस्तों के साथ दिनभर जंगल में दौड़ता फिरता-कभी पेड़ पर चढ़ कर दोस्तों के साथ फल खाता, कभी खरगोश पकड़ता, कभी दोस्तों के साथ पत्थरों पर चढ़ कर झील में कूदता और खूब नहाता। उसे अपने जंगल और जंगल के जीवों से बहुत प्यार था। बस्ती में ही एक आश्रम था जिसके गुरूजी बस्ती के बच्चों को जंगल की रक्षा करना, अस्त्र शस्त्र चलाना, कबीले के नियम-कायदे, जंगल में मिलने वाली जड़ी-बूटियों की जानकारी, शिकार करना और अपनी कुलदेवी के पूजा-अर्चना के तरीके सिखाते । भोलू और उसके दोस्त भी ध्यान व मन लगाकर सब कुछ सीखते । दिन इसी तरह बीत रहे थे कि एक दिन जंगल में खेलते-खेलते भोलू और उसके दोस्त बहुत दूर निकल गए वहां जंगल में उन्हें कुछ हलचल सुनाई दी। भोलू और उसके दोस्त छुपते छुपाते आवाज की दिशा में बढ़ते चले गए और वहां की हालत देखकर हैरान रह गए। वहां कुल सात आदमी अजीब सी वेशभूषा में थे और उनके हाथो में अजीब सी चीजें थी। भोलू और उसके दोस्तों के लिए सब कुछ अनोखा था क्योंकि उन्होंने कभी भी इन्सानों को कपड़े पहने या इन्सानों के हाथों में पकडे यंत्र और आने जाने के लिए बस या ट्रक पहले नहीं देखे थे। भोलू की समझ में सिर्फ इतना आया कि जंगल में आये लोग पेड़ों को काट रहे थे और उन्हें ले जाने के लिए ट्रकों में लाद रहे थे। बड़े-बड़े हरे पेड़ पल भर में तेज आवाज के साथ कट कर गिर रहे थे और उन पेड़ों पर रहने वाले पक्षी चिल्ला कर एक पेड़ से दूसरे पेड़ की ओर उड़ रहे थे, उन पक्षियों के घोसले टूट कर जमीन पर गिर रहे थे उन घोसलों में पक्षियों के अण्डे, छोटे बच्चे सभी कुछ थे । पेड़ों के नीचे बने बिलों से छोटे जानवर खरगोश, नेवले, चूहे सभी इधर उधर डर कर भाग रहे थे। उनका घर-उनका परिवार उनसे छीन गया था। भोलू और उनके दोस्त समझ नहीं पा रहे थे जो पेड़ उनको फल-फूल, छाया, हवा, दवा सभी कुछ देते हैं आखिर उसे किस वजह से लोग काट रहे थे। भोलू और उसके दोस्त कुछ समझ पाते इससे पहले उन्होंने देखा कि बाहर से आये इनमे से कुछ लोग जानवरों और पक्षियों को पकड़ कर उनको बंदी बना रहे थे। भोलू को रोना  आ गया वो चाहता था कि वह चीख-चीख कर सबको ऐसा करने से रोक दे और उनको जंगल से चले जाने को कह दे लेकिन वहां के हालत ने उसको डरा दिया था और वो कुछ भी सोच नहीं पा रहा था लेकिन उसने हिम्मत नहीं हारी और अपने जंगल को बचने के लिए उपाय सोचने लगा। काफी सोच विचार कर उसने एक योजना बनाई और अपने दोस्तों को बताई, दोस्तों को योजना बहुत पसंद आई।

भोलू का एक दोस्त वीरा तुरंत बस्ती के लोगों को जानकारी देने के लिए वहां से दौड़ कर चला गया। भोलू और उसके बाकी दोस्त चीमा, गोपी, चुन्नू ने अपने कमर में बाँध रखे चाकू को निकाला और योजना के अनुसार जल्दी-जल्दी बरगद के पेड़ की जटाओं को काटने लगे। जब जटाएं काफी सारी मात्रा में इकट्ठा हो गईं तो उन लोगों ने उसे एक जाल कि तरह बुन लिया और एक बड़ा जाल बना लिया। लम्बी हरी घास से एक रस्सी बनाई और जटाओं से बने जाल को इस रस्सी के सहारे पेड़ से इस तरह बाँध दिया कि वो नजर न आये। इसके बाद जगह-जगह उन्होंने रस्सी के फंदे बनाए और उन्हें सूखे पत्तों से ढक दिया। फंदे इस तरह लगाये गए थे कि अगर किसी का पैर उन पर पड़े तो वह उसमे फंस जाए और उल्टा लटक जाए। भोलू , चीमा और गोपी ने जल्दी से लकड़ी और घास की रस्सी से धनुष बनाये और चाकू से लकड़ी में नोक बनाकर बहुत सारे तीर तैयार कर लिए। इतनी देर में चुन्नू ऐसी जड़ी-बूटी खोज लाया जो बेहोश करने में काम आती थी, गुरूजी ने अलग-अलग बहुत सारी जड़ी-बूटी की पहचान बच्चों को करायी थी। सबने मिल कर इस बूटी के रस को तीर के नोक पर लगा दिया। फिर सब बच्चों ने मिलकर आस-पास से बहुत सारे छोटे-छोटे गोल पत्थर इकट्ठा कर लिए जो उनकी गुलेल में काम आने थे जो उन बच्चों के पास हमेशा रहती थी। पूरी तैयारी करने के बाद भोलू ने जमीन पर नक्शा बना कर पूरी योजना फिर से अपने दोस्तों को समझाई। उनकी पूरी योजना यह थी कि इन सातों आदमियों को एक दूसरे से अलग करके पकड़ लेना ताकि जंगल के पेड़ों और पशु पक्षियों को बचाया जा सके।

पहले चरण को पूरा करने के लिए उन्होंने झाड़ियाँ और पेड़ की डंठलें इस तरह से काटीं कि उनको ले कर चलने पर वे उसके पीछे छिप सके और उन्हें कोई देख न पाए। छिपते-छिपते भोलू और उसके साथी उन दो आदमियों के पास पहुँच गए जो कि छोटे जीवों को पकड़ रहे थे। भोलू और उसके दोस्तों ने अपनी गुलेलें निकालीं और उसमे पत्थर लगाकर एकसाथ उन दोनों आदमियों पर निशाना लगा कर मारने लगे। अचानक हुए पत्थरों के हमले से दोनों आदमी बौखला गए,उन्हें पत्थरों से बहुत चोट लग रही थी लेकिन वे समझ नहीं पा रहे थे कि आखिर पत्थर आ कहाँ से रहे थे और वो कैसे इन पत्थरों से बचें। दोनों आदमी चोट खा कर घबरा कर भागने लगे, भागने के चक्कर में उसी दिशा में भागे जिधर भोलू और दोस्तों ने रस्सियों के फंदे छुपा कर रखे थे। उनके पैर उन फंदों में पड़े और वे उसमे फंस कर पेड़ पर फंदे से उल्टा लटक गए, अब वे कुछ भी कर पाने कि स्थिति में नहीं थे । भोलू और साथियों का योजना का पहला चरण पूरा हुआ। लटके हुए दोनों आदमी सहायता के लिए पुकारने लगे उनकी चीख पुकार सुन कर उनके बॉस ने लकड़ी लादने वाले दोनों आदमियों को स्थिति की जानकारी करने के लिए भेजा। दोनों आदमी तुरंत ही आवाज की दिशा में जाने लगे लेकिन उन्हें आगे होने वाली घटना का कोई पूर्वाभास नहीं था,जैसे ही वे आगे पहुंचे छिपे हुए भोलू और उसके साथियों ने जाल से बंधी रस्सी को काट दिया। जाल सीधा इन दोनों आदमियों के ऊपर गिरा और दोनों उसमे फंस गये। भोलू व उसके साथी तुरंत बाहर निकले और उन दोनों आदमियों को जाल सहित ही बांध दिया ताकि वे भाग न सकें। योजना का दूसरा चरण पूरा हो चुका था और कुल चार आदमी बंदी बना लिए गए थे। अब बारी थी योजना के तीसरे चरण की। भोलू, चीमा, गोपी और चुन्नू ने अपने-अपने धनुष कंधे पर टाँगे और तीरों को हाथ में लेकर पेड़ों के पीछे छिपते-छिपते उस तरफ पहुँच गए जहाँ दो आदमी आवाज करती मशीनों से पेड़ों को काट रहे थे। सबने अपने धनुष कंधे से उतारे और अलग-अलग दिशा से निशाना साध कर तीर चलने लगे। भोलू और उसके साथी निशाना लगाने में निपुण थे उन्होंने जल्दी ही निशाना साध कर उन दोनों आदमियों को बेहोश कर दिया। योजना का तीसरा चरण भी पूरा हुआ था। पेड़ों की कटाई का काम अचानक से रुकने पर बॉस को कुछ समझ में नहीं आया लेकिन उसको लगा कि जरूर कुछ गड़बड़ है, वो पूरी बात समझ पता इसके पहले ही भोलू, चीमा, गोपी और चुन्नू ने बॉस को चारों ओर से घेर लिया, उन सभी के हाथ में धनुष तैयार था। बॉस इन छोटे बच्चों को देख कर हैरान रह गया लेकिन वो अपने साथियों के बिना असहाय था इतनी देर में वीरा भी बस्ती के लोगों को लेकर आ गया। सभी के हाथों में शस्त्र थे – धनुष, भाला, तलवार । खुद को लोगों से घिरा देख बॉस घबरा गया और अपनी जान की भीख मांगने लगा। भोलू के गुरूजी जो उसकी भाषा जानते थे उन्होंने बॉस से बात की और उसे तुरंत ही जंगल से चले जाने को कहा। बॉस ने सभी से क्षमा मांगी और पकडे हुए सभी जीव और काटी हुई लकड़ियाँ वहीँ छोड़ कर अपने साथियों को लेकर चला गया और जंगल में कभी भी वापस न आने का वचन दिया। सारे बस्ती वालों ने भोलू और उसके दोस्तों की बहादुरी व बुद्धिमानी की बहुत प्रशंसा की और उन्हें कंधो पर उठा लिया। भोलू और उसके सभी दोस्त बहुत खुश थे।

बच्चों! हमें भी  जंगल और उसमे रहने वाले लोगों को कोई हानि नहीं पहुंचानी चाहिए क्योंकि वे लोग जंगल के कारण ही जीवित हैं और हम भी जंगल और पर्यावरण पर निर्भर हैं। हैं न ?
